As we begin the holy month of Ramadan, we remind ourselves that it is a time for spirituality, reflection and to remember those less fortunate than ourselves. For millions, going without food and water are daily realities. Many are caught up in conflicts and disasters around the world including, Palestine, Somalia and Afghanistan to the recent devastating floods in Pakistan. Following on from the IFtar 10 000 campaign last year IF is again attempting to feed up to 10 000 people in different parts of the world through its IFtar 10 000 campaign 2010. During the last 10 days of Ramadan, up to 1000 IFtar meals will be provided “around the world” in each of the following countries: Bosnia, Palestine, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir and Bangladesh, all areas affected by conflicts or natural disasters. Meals will also be provided in the UK to some of the homeless shelters in London. In addition IF will also be able to provide Zakat and Eid distribution in the countries mentioned above.
This Campaign aims to highlight the situation and conditions of homeless people in London as well as displaced communities around the world, affected by war, famine and other natural disasters. 10 iFtars – 10 countries – last 10 days of Ramadan – only £25
